So I've had it for ages now, since about Christmas last year. No major problems until now, mostly just problems like having to restart or reinstall drivers etc.

Recently, (couple of weeks) the plastic decided it was going to give way and under the earphone that has the microphone attachment has nothing connecting the plastic together but the cable and electrical tape. Not a problem since it's been working up until now, but the microphone has suddenly decided to stop working. It's still detected by the computer, however, no sound is being detected. (The speakers still work and I can hear everything, it's just the microphone.)

I've tried pretty much everything I've found on the internet according to this issue, including reinstalling drivers,  and checking the cable and the connections, changing usb etc.. None of it has worked so far and I don't exactly have a very high budget to be buying a new microphone.

You probably have a disconnected microphone cable internally you would have to take it apart and resolder the broken connection/cable. You should have used something much stronger than electrical tape as that doesn't really hold up and isn't needed for low voltage applications.

Some putty epoxy, epoxy, gel superglue would have worked but don't bother with it now as you have to first fix the wire or replace it if you can't fix it. You can try giggling the microphone bit dangling off to see if it is still slightly connected.

I try to stay away from Logitech, just personal preference.

I'll try and get a cheap external microphone for now, since the headphones still work.

You know, how people try to say the game coms, are in the same class as the G430's?  Bruh bruh, they are much much better, while a bit shallow they sound decent, without that like beats by dre bass and that sweet sweet 7.1 sound card(Yes I know there are digital 7.1 software)   But as you can see by my signature I'm upgrading my headset to accommodate a more serious, and professional system.
