GPU Memory Important?

Hey guys, I was messing around with my 980ti strix and after googling some images I saw that there were no active cooling contacts for the memory chips. I was just wondering how important the memory temps were.. If i have a 7400mhz mem oc and 1520 gpu clock, would that degrade my cards life ? The gpu temps never went above 81C. Not sure how to check memory temps

If the vRAM is not actively cooled by heatsinks and the coolers fan, don't try overclocking the memory.
