do you have cricketwireless?

whalecum, if you do give me your opinion on how strong the signal and data coverage is (location is east coast)

I haven't used them since AT&T bought them out, but i assume the coverage is pretty good since AT&T isn't bad coverage wise. If I remember right, they limit the speed to 8mbps, so it should be good for most things, but its still being limited.

AT&T bought cricket? Didn't Cricket use CDMA which is why a lot of Verizon phones could used on Cricket?

Yep, Cricket used to be an MVNO from Sprint(which uses CDMA), but AT&T eventually bought them out(few years ago) and converted Cricket to GSM(well, just started activating phones on AT&T's network instead). Pretty sure they stopped providing CDMA earlier this year.

Sounds expensive for AT&T :o. But I guess one less competitor sounds nice.  :P

I actually think it was pretty cheap for them actually. Sprint hasn't been doing good financially within the past 7(ish) years, they have been cutting their MVNO's and auctioning them off. AT&T probably got a good deal on Cricket since lets face it, nobody wants to buy Cricket, and AT&T gained a bunch of customers by doing so.

I remember back in 2009 my mom thought it was a good idea to not get normal internet, and have us all use their cellular data thing. It was pretty abysmal, especially for gaming (played a lot of Maplestory back then).
