Encoding server recomendations

kjvnasa

Hey everyone i am planning to build an encoding server for streaming my content. basically using obs or adobe live flash media encoder. Correct me if i am wrong believe this is a purely cpu task... idk what matters more ghz or core count. Anyway it needs to be efficient and be able to encode in h.264 ACC. All suggestions are appreciated. Oh and i did find a previous thread on this forum but its outdated from 2011 sooo meh i guess i could make a new one. I already have a case and ddr3 ram

thanks

My rig:
CPU: i7 4790k @4.5ghz (1.165v) COOLER: Hyper 212 Evo  MOBO: Asus Maximus VI EXTREME   RAM: 8GB Kingston FURY @1866 Mhz   GPU: ASUS STRIX GTX 970 DUAL SLI   PSU: Corsair HX750   CASE: NZXT Phantom 830 HDD: WD Black 3TB SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 256Gb

theres GPU encoding, but from my experience its not really worth it in most cases.

as for GHZ or core count: you just need the most raw power you can get, if it comes in "more cores" or "more hertzes" doesnt really matter, its the total power that matters.
