980ti Sli temps

jjohnthedon1

Hi guys so I have 2 msi twin frozen 980ti's

Running gpu boost2.0 ramps the core up to 1329ghz

The top card hits 83 degrees and the bottom card 70

I no the top card gets hotter but no matter what I do with the fan profile I can't get the temps down

Am I doing something wrong ?

No, heat rises and the excess heat from the bottom card is rising to the top card. This is always the case with standard ATX mounted motherboards.

83 is fine. That card is going to run rather warm no matter what you do.

Hot air rises, so it's just getting warm from the other graphics card below.

So I don't need to worry?

Is 83 to hot for the top card ?

If not should I set the target temp a bit higher ?

Nah. The high-end GTX cards tend to run at very high temperatures even with good ventilation, it's not uncommon to see them peak at around 90 degrees Celcius.

The temperatures you're getting are well within the normal operating temperatures, so I wouldn't worry about it.
