just any mobo that can support SLI should be fine, it needs minimum of w PCI-E X16 and X8, the speed doesn't change much.

instead of SLI GTX 960's get a GTX 970 or R9 390.

Depends on resolution, I'd go for a 980.

one 960 is a waste of money
two is a hole in your pocket waiting to happen
get a 390 or a 970 if you're spending $400

I would go for a 390/x

you'll need something much stronger.
