Easy question just making sure

Go to solution Solved by thekeemo,

So I am right, it doesn't display anything because it is not updated. Should I get it updated or get a new board. If I get a new board I will obviously get my money back.

if you can still return it go for it. Otherwise just update.

Hey guys, I recently got all of my parts and started on my build. when I turn it on the case fan and cpu fan turn on but does not display anything on my monitor. MSI says I need v1.5 on the mobo BIOS to support my processor and ive got v1.2. I am 99% sure this is the problem just tell me that i am right or wrong?

you should always update your Bios to make sure all features/bugs are worked out

Probably need to flash it, If you have a GPU installed, uninstall it and boot from onboard graphics

It's a computer for office purposes so no GPU. Also you said install the latest BIOS but how can I updated if my CPU isn't compatible unless updated. I dont want to take it to get it updated so i am going to return it and get a gigabyte board. Is this a good decision?

How it's a cheap MSI board.

how?

a Bios is a bios

Its universally the same to flash a bios. Bios' don't change. No one bios is better then another. Its all just code.

Its all hardware. A bios is just a piece of code. Code doesn't change like hardware does

TL;DR

It could have the cheapest materials but the highest quality bios. Its not something you pay extra for. Features, maybe (overclockability yes) A bios is flashed universally the same way, Through the actual bios or on a USB stick.

So you think it will work?
