GTX 770 performance

Go to solution Solved by Analog,

The valley benchmark gives an FPS of 47.2; according to the info of the screen, the GPU was running at 1241-ish mhz on the extreme HD benchmark.

That sounds right. My overclocked GTX 770 gives around 51-52 FPS. Your card is performing as it should.

Hey all,

I'm quite happy with my msi gtx 770 gaming, never get lag or anything but I'm still feeling like it's underperforming all the time.

Can someone give me the performance on highest settings (+source) of these games of the gtx 770, or the performance it should deliver?

- Saints row the third

- trials evolution gold edition

- Minecraft

- Crysis 3

- tf2

Thanks!

You feel like it's underperforming in these games specifically? Other than Crysis 3 none of these titles should even remotely push your GTX 770. Here's reported FPS from Crysis 3 running at Ultra settings at 1080p:

FPS
Min: 22
Max: 54
Avg: 37

If it works it will perform like it should be, unless it is throttling.   :)

Not playing crysis 3 yet but I plan on buying it. Playing saints row the third right now and afterburner shows 50-90 frames, mostly around 60; which should maybe be higher?

Yeah it runs crysis 3 fine for me but when I get to that grassy section where you sneak around the the laser rocket thing it's horrible but playable at 26fps but that's the lowest point in the game after that its like avg of 68 and max of like 95.

Ps: I can record a benchmark for you if you would like it ?

Also factor in that the 770 is a total BEAST at overclocking.

I just did a 3DMark 11 (basic edition) test and I think the card is underperforming, also because Metro 2033 on highest never gets above 55 fps, usually around 35-45 :(

Results 3DMark:

Higher scores that the "virtual pc" on their website says:

Also factor in that the 770 is a total BEAST at overclocking.

So you overclocked it to get it to perform that well in crysis 3, right?

Run Unigine Valley Benchmark @ ExtremeHD presets. You should get between 40 and 45 fps depending on your overclock.

I'm not running an overclock atm, what frames should I get without one?

I think the difference comes from the fact he runs the benchmark straight from Windows whereas you probably run it after a loop or half a loop. This would give better results because some stuff would be already loaded in the ram

I run it straight from windows without doing a loop.  He may he losing some performance from recording at the same time.
