Do Steam redemption codes expire?

I know this will be a quick thread.

 

I want to buy a game for my kid's birthday a few weeks early because I have a discount code for a third-party website to purchase a Steam key.    

 

The discount code will expire, but does any one know if Steam keys will?  His birthday is October 9.

They shouldn't unless you're extremely unlucky and the keys you purchased were stolen and therefore revoked, again EXTREMELY unlikely. 

 

I've had steam keys in my humble bundle library that I bought around two years ago yet they still will redeem two years on as I've given them away recently.

Every Key sits on a Steam Key Server wait for its activation. It doesnt matter how long you wait.

I don't think they expire. Unless it's an illegitimate seller handing out duplicate game keys.
