Hi LTT forum members,

I going to upgrade in a few days from my 4770K with my sabertooh x87 and 16 gb 2400mhz More specs in my bio.

I want some more performance for productivity mostly doing some graphic intensive programs like 50mb+ raw files in Adobe lightroom/photoshop, DxO Optics pro, 4k sony vegas edits.

Also i game regularly and doing some heavy network related stuff (servers, websites, etc)

It must be a multitasking whore!

My budget ? around 900dollar

New motherboard need to have:

usb 3.1 @ rear IO

sata express for an usb3.1 connectivity in the front of my case

minimum 2 intel nics

love to have an color scheme red/black

What are your recommendations ?

Thanks in advance!

The 6700K and 1231 v3 (If you are talking about this CPU for the 2011v3 socket) will not offer much improvement over your current 4770k.

I suggest you look at the x99 platform, either the 6 core 5820k, 5930k (If SLI), or 8 core 5960X.

For heavy multithreaded tasks you should go for the X99 chipset and get a 6 or 8 core Intel CPU.

For gaming its going to make zero difference.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)
