I bought mad max after seeing the overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam and so far have around 10 hours of gameplay. I have to say that the concept of the game is something that really intrigued me but I feel like it is being held back by some issues. For example some of the audio effects (rolling on metal in particular) sound like someone made the sound effects through a crappy microphone in two minutes. You can also hear when the audio loops for example when going reverse in a car or the whether effects... there are brief millisecond cuts in the audio that take away from immersion. Also the anti-aliasing is just terrible, especially when driving in the desert and all you see are jagged edges of little pebbles on the ground. I also feel like the lighting effects are messy and the cut scenes are glitchy. I had the worst shimmering effect in the game for a while and after many hours of gameplay figured out it was due to the poor SSAO.

I really want to like this game because the design seems great, combat is fun, car battles are awesome, and tearing down random fortresses at will is hilarious, but I do feel like the whole experience gets severely dampened by the issues I mentioned. What do you guys think? Do you agree with me or completely disagree?

Try to force FXAA through your driver instead of the ingame anti-aliasing, it'll probably help with your jagged little pebbles.

Audio popping could be your CPU/audio card not keeping up...

Already forced AA through the panel and I did notice improvements but very slightly. Also this is the only game I get audio popping in, any other game is perfectly fine.

I have 44 hours gameplay.

I have experienced a lot of glitches, the car's sound disappearing even though all other sound remains.

The car being thrown vertically up in the air, foes getting stuck inside mountains/floors etc.

If you stop to give water and you hear an enemy car come closer you cant leave the "cutscene", you'll just have to wait and get run over...

Scarecrows not being there even though they are marked on the map and you can see a small part of it in the air.

If you hold a weapon at the same time as you're getting scrap, it often gets the subtitle wrong of your action.

This is a great game and a lot of fun but it is not as perfected as many people say it is.

Mouse cursor appears when it shouldn't...... over the gameplay movement, have to MAP in, MAP out to remove the cursor (sometimes hitting escape twice fix's it)

Pretty annoying,.. after a cutscene to then have it appear, and moving the mouse for camera, the cursor moves too...

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Yep same problem here... honestly all these issues really ruin the game for me. Also the menus freeze all the time especially in the garage
