Recently I moved my mid tower into the Mini ATX Corsair 250D for college, and along with a new motherboard, I decided to get a H100i all-in-one. The motherboard I chose was this one. Between the 27mm radiator on the H100i, its fans, and the placement of the 24 pin power and USB 3.0, there was essentially zero room left. I though I had gotten away with it too. Turns out I had a bad unit with a rattling/clicking pump. I got the return approved by amazon and went to order a replacement, but to my disappointment they were out of stock (unless I wanted to pay $210+ with no prime shipping). With college only a week away I need a replacement, so I ordered a H100i GTX. With an extra 3mm on the radiator the motherboard I had would no longer work so I ordered this one to gain the required clearance, meaning I will have to return my original motherboard to newegg for a 15% charge of the boards cost. I will update the post as soon as I get it all worked out. Being a faithful corsair consumer I am disappointed by the headache they have caused me. Hoping the GTX unit doesn't sound like a noisy hard drive.

If anyone wants to see pictures after I get a vandal switch + lighting in or wants to know how to dremel a 140mm fan to fit in the front of a 250D with a h100i let me know.

I was more going for a quiet build with a light oc in the future, and with the low volume of air already in the case it heats up fast, so its nice to have the majority of the cpu's heat on its way out with the exhaust. Also Z97 chipset boards tend to be expensive or have clearance issues.

Because the cooler is universal so he can put it on whatever he wants, nothing wrong with keeping his kit cool.

I had the same issue as you when I decided to watercool my AMD build. There was only enough clearance for a corsair radiator... seriously corsair? anyway in the end I just did this...

If it works it works, however I could not use this solution in my 250D unless I leave an entire side panel off. :(
