Hey, I am new to this board but hopefully you guys can help me!

Last week my computer started to randomly shutdown without any warning. While playing games Windows would simply logoff / the computer would turn black immediately. The event log tells we, there was an exception of type Windows Kernel Power something with ID 41 or so. Overheating shouldn't be a problem either, I monitored the temperatures and I recently cleaned every component.

First, taking about 2 of my 4 RAM modules (4x2 GB) worked and the system ran stable for a couple of days. Now it happened again. Im starting to think that the motherboard I purchased is faulty. Here are the tests I already completed and the result:

CPU-Burn-In Test: System stable

Memtest4 (while having 8 GB of RAM): System crashes

Memtest4 (testing every single RAM module): System stable

Memtest86+ (with 4 GB of ram): System stable

Attaching an USB 3.0 HD (without external power supply): System crashes

HD Tune: No bad sectors found and HDD health seems to be good (Power on time: 15024)

I already replaced the PSU with a 650W from Seasonic and don't know what to do next.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570kMotherboard: AsROCK B75-Pro3GPU: NVidia Geforce GTX 660 TiHDD: Hitachi Desktstar 1TBPSU: Seasonic SS-650AM Active PFC M12II-650 BronzeOS: Windows 7 Home Premium OEM 64-Bit

I want to add that I am by far not an expert on this topic, so please explain it as simple as you can. Thank you! :)

Any help on this topic is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Check if all the internal power cables are securely plugged in. If this doesn't help take the system out of your case an assemble it on a non-conductive surface.

I checked every cable and everything seems fine (as far as I can tell). Can you go in detail what you mean by assembling it on a non-conductive surface?

Assemble it on a cardboard box or a wooden table. Just make sure it's not touching anything that is conductive

Disable any and all power saving things even the little things like turning your off automatically, disable that and disable auto standby. If you wanna close your screen then do it manually. I had the same issue, this solved it for me.

I edited the power savings options. I will try to assemble it later on, when I got time.

Just wondering, could the settings in AsROCK XTreme Tuner Utility cause any problems?

The settings look normal, but you could try and unistall the program to see if it helps. You could also try and disable every non-essential start up program in the Windows System Configuration
