So today I was looking around for new possibilities for a new mouse, and I came across one known as the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 by Microsoft. I own an original Wheel mouse, which is similar but with an ambidextrous design and no extra buttons. The problem with it is it has seen at least 6 years of heavy use. I loved that mouse and I played games using it since I was a little kid. It was almost perfect.

I realized that the Intellimouse 3.0 is basically the same thing, but with a right handed design and extra buttons. I don't really need them, just they would be nice to have for extra binds in game. And I could use a more ergonomic design.

I was wondering though, where can I get one since Microsoft discontinued them? Are any of the Chinese reproduction ones at least somewhat reliable (I will be able to get at least a year of use out of it while doing some moderate-heavy gaming?).

Also, the 400 dpi is great. I actually use that dpi for desktop as well, because I got used to it while gaming.

Also you might ask, why not go for a newer mouse?

Well it's because I like simplicity in mice. I find the more advanced they are, the more issues I have with them. Razer is a good example of this with their Shitapse software.

Heck I had an old generic logitech mouse that I gamed on heavily for like 5 years and it died a year ago, well it's still usable just the mouse button switches are gone on it.

400 dpi is what I like.

I don't know why you think it's horrible. I like the precision no matter what I am doing.

Also I won't go logitech unless it doesn't require a driver to change the settings like dpi. Their drivers are crap in my opinion, not as bad as Razer but I don't like them. Then again that might just be my experience with them.

If you like simplicity and the shape of the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, you should look into Zowie. Their mice are about as simple as it gets and it's also somewhat similar to the shape of the 3.0.

Personally, I went Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 > DeathAdder > Zowie EC1 Evo. I had to move away from the IME3.0 because I didn't like having to adjust my sensitivity constantly between games.

I own and use, sorted from newest to oldest: SteelSeries 6Gv2. Microsoft SideWinder X4. Mionix Naos 7000. Zowie EC1 Evo. Microsoft SideWinder X8. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Dell U2414H. Samsung P2270H. AKG K273 Pro. Sennheiser HD555. Razer Goliathus Speed Medium. Func 1030 L. Qpad CT Medium.

I used to own: Razer DeathAdder 3G. Razer Krait. IntelliMouse Optical 1.1. SteelSeries QcK.

wait what 400dpi is horrible and I doubt you can program macros on to the mouse. Go the Logitech G700s or Proteus Core G502 if you dislike razer software

How is 400dpi horrible? I have a g502, and I do everything at 400dpi. Even on a triple monitor setup. 400 is great if you have the desk space.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)

If you're liking simplicity, why not a Zowie EC1-A? They were based off the Intellimouse, however with a bit of a modern twist when it comes to the looks, and if you ever need to, it does have three other DPI sensitivities.

Also, 400DPi is the only way to rock. ;)

What do they know of England, who only England know?
