Hello, recenlty bought a pc.

when i try power the pc up nothing happens, fans wont spin and i see no sense of life what so ever.

Only thing i noticed was a little red light (solid)

on the left side of the 24pin connector.

thats all i see.

Ive tried all the things the manula suggest but still nothing.

the motherboard is a i msi z170a pc mate.

16gb ddr4 ram

6600k processor LGA1151

ive tried with and without the graphic card and still nothing.

i dont know if the light has anything to do with the problem but some of you may know.

Ive also tried to pull everything out and replug all the cables, but still nothing.

-snip-

Check if you plugged in the front IO correctly.

I've sometimes put the Power Switch lead on the Power LED header.

You could touch a flathead screwdriver on the Power Switch lead and see if it turns on that way.

If it does, it means you plugged the Power Switch in the wrong spot.

If it doesn't, you either forgot to connect power to the motherboard/CPU or your motherboard standoffs aren't installed correctly.

Also, don't forget to follow your topics OP.

so... i'm gonna go for the cheapest first here, and guess your power button may be broken or accidentially disconnected by a bump against the pc.

i had it happen to my very own €1800 build. test ran it on my desk, close it off, slide it under my desk, nothing.

turns out sliding it under my desk (with a few bumps, because that shit was heavy) caused the power button connector to fall off, creating the exact scenario you described.
