Here is my "proposal" for my parents as a Christmas idea, if I were to get this they would get my computer (A10-5800K, 7870, 8gb RAM, Legit windows)

Is the computer part list a good idea as well as my "proposal"

Forgot to mention this is a Red and Black theme

I would change the RAM to 8Gb if its only for gaming and get a smaller SSD and a bigger storage drive.

Also do you really need a Sound card? Could save some money without it if you don't need it.

This computer will be used to do some minor content creation, I would keep my current computer but with the low power hazwell and ability to stream to the shield I need a new CPU, MOBO, GPU and I might as well just build

I would like the 16 gb because I do not want to get more RAM if I start to do content creation (70% chance I will start)

I'll change the Cooler

As of now I don't even use more than 200gb of storage and would like the low hassle of not using a HDD

Get http://pcpartpicker.com/part/tp-link-wireless-network-card-tlwdn3800 instead of the usb 2.0 port. It'll fit right above your graphics card and you won't have it poking around...plus it's cheaper. :D

Get an H100i, take off the sound card or get a cheaper one, 8GB of RAM is plenty for gaming, and if it fits into your budget 770/780 or wait for 9XXX series.

I agree with you but I think he will be waiting since it's for christmas :)

If you do start doing some content creation and depending on what you're doing, that can eat up a lot of space, but that's your choice.

Ok so I re did it, my main reason for the sound card was the sound radar, but the MOBO has it built in, Unless a ASUS 770 goes on sale at around Christmas I'll use the 760 (I really want to stream with shield)

You're in Canada and shopping from the US?

What kind of content creation are you planning to do? What programs are you using?

Also, if you're using heavily threaded applications, a 8320/8350 may be a better choice than the 4670k and would cost less.

As for the mobo, drop down to the G45 Gaming. There's not really a performance difference.

If you only use 200GB now, just get a 250GB ssd and a hdd for storage later. It's not much of a hassle. You really only need a ssd for your OS and programs. A 120GB ssd would probably be enough. It would also cost your parents less considering they are paying for it.

Considering whether or not you need CUDA, the 7950/7970 would be a better alternative.

Drop down on the sound card. From you scurrent setup, I doubt you have the hardware that would call for dedicated sound.

Go to TP link for a wifi adapter instead. Asus isn't known for their wireless cards.

Why so many fans? and why not the windowed R4?

PSU is overkill. A decent 600-650w would suffice even for sli.

Are you sure you want to be paying $50 more just for 1920x1200? I'd recommend getting 2 displays instead. It helps productivity. It may take a little while getting used to it but it's worth it most of the time and is very beneficial in content creation.

Ill reply as to what you said

I like features of Z87

Theme, sound radar

Fixed

Shield streaming

Soundcard dropped, noise from windowed R4

Adapter goes with theme ( may not even use, moving)

May be upgraded later

The G45 Gaming is a z87. It's also red/black so it fits your theme. The sonic radar is more for gaming than anything but that's the only thing that really separates it. The 'bit better than most z87 sound' shield streaming  from the Hero is kind of useless when you're getting a dedicated sound card anyway. A cheap dedicated sound card would do better than the onboard audio.

Don't buy the fans for the R4 just yet. I don't think you even know if the fans on the R4 are loud are not.

What may be upgraded later? It would be nice if you used complete sentences. I'm not to sure what you're referring to.
