Window 8.1

techoftheday

Does Window 8.1 takes up more vram during idle than Window 7?

As in for example,I'm using an Intel Pentium G3258 CPU,MSI Geforce GTX 750 Ti of 2GB GDDR5 VRAM GPU,Gigabyte G1.Sniper B5 motherboard, 8 GB of DDR3 1600MHZ RAM,if Window 8.1 is my OS,will the VRAM drop to like(P.s-just guessing/for example)1.8GB as Window 8.1 has more features while Window 7 is in the slightly lesser one.

Or does it not at all?

Finally, which OS is better/more suitable for me(mostly for gaming or for extremely usage) with the specs I've mentioned above? Thanks in advance. Peace

Windows 8.1 takes around 400 Mb on average but uses a lot less RAM and CPU to my experience.

I think you mean RAM, not VRAM.

Anyway 8.1 should be using less, its not as bloated as 7.

Why don't you just upgrade to 10 if its going to be for gaming?

Personally I recommend Windows 10.

The VRAM usage shouldn't really matter, it makes very little difference.
