i5-3570k Cooling

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

Hi all,

I've bought H80i for around 3-4 months now and unfortunately, I broke the Fan connectors on the top of the pump, and yes, both of them.

I'm currently using H80i with a little bit of modification.. the two fans that were supposed to be connecting to the pump itself are now connecting directly via Motherboard

which produce lot of noises when it's under full load or while I'm playing games.

I'm thinking of getting a Prolimatech Megahalem soon(or if you guys have any better suggestions, please come up with it on the comment). Probably by the end of this month.

But what I really wanna ask is it possible using the stock cooler of 3570k to bear 1.12-1.15 V. @4.2 Ghz. And if it's possible, what's the temperature at full load and idle?

since H80i fan's noises is really irritating while I'm playing games...

Edit: The LED light on the pump itself also went down, but it still works. Weird.

Instead of buying an air cooler, you can simply buy a hardware fan controller. What motherboard are you using? If using an ASUS board, you'll be able to use Fan Xpert to control the fans.

Get Noctua fans. Simple. And there is no way to use a stock cooler and overclock. The stock coolers suck at keeping the processor warm at stock clocks.

Oh, I forgot to think of that...Maybe I could just grab one of those fan controllers and use it to control. That seems like a better plan.

If you want, I can forward you to a simple one. Uses an expansion slot, and has the ability to control two fans.

Guess I'll be getting noctua's fan and a fan controller instead of a new heatsink

Thank Guys!

You can get the 3570k to 4.2 ghz on a stock heatsink if you have decent case airflow. It won't even get too loud. I've done it.

Something like a Hyper 212 Evo is recommended though.
