Help please.

I want to build a Z170 gaming PC on roughly a $1000 budget minus peripherals and hard drives/power supply.

Preferences:

I would greatly prefer to have an ROG motherboard (that is what I have in my current computer and I love ROG products)

I would like to have a GTX970 in the build unless a GTX960 can run 1080p cranked up. (Currently I have a GTX760 that can run just about anything 1080p, but not with settings cranked)

I already have an SSD, HDD and Power Supply that I can use from the current build and I plan on upgrading the hard drives at a later date, possibly to NVME and a WD black 2tb.

I would also like to do a AIO watercooler for the CPU. Something like a H100i GTX or whatever the new corsair watercooler names are.

Thank you

Current PC specs:

Mobo: Asus Maximus VI Hero Z87

CPU: i5-4670K

RAM: 8G (2x4) Corsair 1600 DDR3

PSU: 750watt Corsair Modular

GPU: ASUS GTX 760

All you need is a motherboard, CPU, memory and graphics card?

What case do you have for this? mostly, how is the airflow in it?

I have a NZXT Tempest 410 Elite. Has really good airflow. Im thinking about getting something newer just to change it up, but thats not really something that has to be addressed right now.

The Kraken X61 is a better cooler than the H100i GTX for nearly the same price, same thing with the GTX 970 and R9 390. You should also know that you can get a board with the Hero's features for considerably less, you're paying for the ROG branding when you get the Hero.

Put this together real quick. Figured you might want an i7, it being a budget build I went with one of their mid-range motherboards. Personally I really like the windforce so I used a windforce 970, and I don't really like AMD so...GTX.

Sorry, new to the forums and at work so can't break it down.
