Possessor usage in stats programs

A Friend of mine needs a good budget PC for stats and some gaming. I have been looking and cant find much on what possessors would be best for programs like SPSS, sas and JMP. Wondering if these programs are super CPU intensive or dose it just not really matter anything goes would an  intel I5 work or would i get better results with more cores on an AMD fx-8350 or fx-6300. If anyone has any ideas that would help a lot.

For JMP, these are the list of JMP platforms that are multi-threaded.

For SPSS, these are the list of clients that are multi-threaded.

As for SAS, it would seem it is multi-threaded. In these scenarios, AMD's CPUs will likely shine.
