5.1 Wireless Speaker Setup

Go to solution Solved by Stagea,

Hi everyone,

I am not an expert on audio and I cannot find if anyone else has posted this up on the forums before so here it goes.

Currently I am using a Logitech Z506 speaker system in a 3.1 config using only the 2 front side, center, and subwoofer speakers as the rear speakers do not have the length to run to my back wall in my room (about 11 ft).  I feel that I am missing out.  Currently, I am looking at giving this system to my sister and getting some new speakers.  Preferably a 5.1 system that does not run sound cords to the rear speakers (wireless for the input).  But I do not know if anything like that exists.

Do you guys know of anything like that?

Also, I do have a set of Gamecom 788's but I do not want to be wearing those just to watch Netflix or something, generally I use them for TS.

You can buy wireless surround speakers from different brands (home theater gear), but they are going out of style.

Another option would be to try something like a universal wireless speaker kit to power your surround speakers (some brands like Rocketfish come with speaker level inputs). You'd have to adjust your time alignment to compensate for the transmission delay, however.

The cheapest way is to just extend the surround speaker wires that you have and tuck them somewhere (if you can).

I will be honest, I did not know that there were extension cords that could do that.  I will look into it.

Also, while appealing, Sonos is a tad out of my budget range atm xD.  Worth looking into for a future investment though.

Thanks for your input guys.
