Hello, I just need help understanding if everything on this parts list is compatible and that I won't have any trouble along the way, It's a simple build with enough RAM and a good enough CPU for the production of electronic music and I don't have any plans for it being a crazy gaming PC yet so don't be too harsh for the cheap choices. I have a tad bit of faith in PC Part Pickers "Compatibility Filter" but the whole "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs." thing is throwing me off..

It's my first build and I don't want to spend money on the parts to a sinking ship, ya know?

Thanks. :)

The 970 chispset is a sinking ship.

I have a USB audio interface which does the exact same thing and allows for recording.

Is that going to effect the longevity of the build in the end?

absolutly!  The chipset always affects the longevity of all builds.

does "chipset" mean both the motherboard AND cpu? (sorry again, new to this)

Your chipset DIRECTLY affects absolutely EVERYTHING about your computer.  Imagine the your computer as a car.  The engine would be your CPU, the RAM would be the number of seats in the vehicle, the graphics cards would be the wheels and suspension, but the chipset would be the chassis.  The chassis in your car determines how big of a motor you could have, how many seats you can safely fit in the vehicle, what size wheels and the type of suspension that you're capable of.  While the chassis doesn't affect the performance itself, it directly impacts everything else.

If you want a AMD 9xx series chipset, which is a 3 year old platform, go with a 990FX chipset.  Although I'd recommend the A88X platform.

So it's the motherboard? or the motherboard/cpu that's gonna fuck this up in the long run? mind you I'm trying to keep the price as is, I hate losing quality but upgrading is always a better thing to have

go for what you want. If you've already decided on something that is fine, go with it. You're only going to be happy with the build that you want.

Thanks, I appreciate the help :) producing music does need a pretty decent CPU and i3 would probably result in lagging and skipping though I might switch out the 1TB HD for a smaller SSD on my list which would dramatically increase performance :D
