Well , time for a upgrade, if you guys go to my profile .. well you know why I need a upgrade , I have around 700 Euros to buy a new mobo , ram and cpu .

Since I have been out of the game for a while , is it worth it to buy the 6600k ? If so what Mobo you recomend ?

I was thinking of something like this :

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  (€108.84 @ Amazon Espana)
Total: €108.84
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Get an MSI or Asrock board or maybe a gigabyte board.

What's wrong with Asus? Their boards are the best.

^^ i kind of agree..and if this is your gaming machine you might want to save some money there and invest in a better graphics solution? if you play modern games at 1080p a 660ti is no longer really cutting it on high settings...so i would go with a cheaper locked core i5, a cheap H97 motherboard, and upgrade your GPU.

Something like this for example packs a serious punch when it comes to gaming and would tremendously improve your gaming experience:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($166.95 @ SuperBiiz)

Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($75.60 @ SuperBiiz)

Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($41.85 @ SuperBiiz)

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card  ($304.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Total: $589.39

I will get a 4k monitor and 2x 980ti for my B-day (25/3), Im doing this upgrade now , because I want to play some Gta V and Diablo 3 without studders (dont mind playing on medium)

So its not worth it buying a locked cpu , to buy the unlocked version a few months down the line.

fair enough, in that case then get the best CPU you can afford and ignore my post :)

I would look at a cheaper board personaly though, those asus boards tend to be way overpriced for what they are.

Good luck with your build.

yes it's a very good CPU for gaming, it's perfect...

For motherboard, here are some suggestions in ''best in class'' motherboard with good features and good bang for your bucks...pick the one you like the most amongst these boards honestly:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z170kraitgaming

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z170a

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz170xpsli

...i would just avoid those super premium overbuilt motherboards...there's just no good reasons to buy those honestly.

Motherboards does not affect performance and all those boards i've listed support SLI and overclocking and everything you might need.

I'd go with the Z170 Krait as it's one of the cheapest and it looks awesome...the ASUS Z170-A is also a very nice board for the price if you like ASUS better.

I included a gigabyte board not to look like a fanboy but i would NEVER buy it...it's brown, it's ugly and the UEFI is disgusting with no proper fan controls.

nahh...gigabyte need to get their shit together...the real problem with them as i said is not even the not so appealing aesthetics, it's the UEFI and softwares designed by a team of drunken 8 years old that ship with the boards.
