Hey I have recently built a computer for a friend who was in despite need of one and this afternoon I added a new fan to the front of the case so it has some air flow coming in from there. It is an Antec One case and now it refuses to register the power button at all.

I think this might be form the fact that I had to remove a ground strap to be able to move the front panel out of the way. But it could also be form the fact that I saw that the 24 pin was not seated right in the mobo (an Asus M5A97 LE RV2) so I gave it a push to seat it properly.

I know he has more then enough power for the rig, as we had it running last night and installed Windows 7. So this bothers me.

I just hope that I did not short out the board by putting the 24 pin in properly. Cause if I did I will be buying him a new board out of my own pocket.

Thanks for any help that can be given, even if it's just a bop to the head cause I missed something stupid.

Did you ground yourself before touching the hardware?

Is the plug for the case power button is properly connected and not loose?
