Keep,your CPU. Is there anything else you've got like HDDs, SSDs, or ram that you've already got?

Well that processor has a lot of life left but for about $1500 you can go X99 and significantly increase your work flow. If you don't plan on overclocking or having this running at 100% load for very long periods then you can drop to a cheaper CPU cooler to bring it under 1500.

That's why I am keeping it, I meant to say that I'm not using any other parts from old build, but I'm still using my cpu

 

You will want to keep the motherboard, 1155 boards are not cheap now.
