Hi guys I have sli 980ti's and my top card hits 83 degrees is this normal and is there anything I can do to help it,

I was considering making a metal plate to fix to my case to separate the cards do u think this would help ?

Because the top,one is trying to suck air in. Try and find a way to get fresh air in between the cards and that'll help.

Get a mobo with space between the slots. If the fans are at max and you are still reaching 80+ then is also a case airflow problem.

I have msi twin frozen ones

I have a 750d with noctua fans in every space so air flow isn't bad

82*C for a 980 Ti is normal - those reference cards run @ 85*C

How is the airflow in the case?

I have a 750d

All fan slots are filled with noctua fans

2 intake in the front

2 exaughsst on my h110 on top

Exaughst in rear

1 intake in the bottom

it's ok - I was saying that reference cards ran at that temp, be it SLI or not.

I mean the temps aren't high enough to damage anything. They'll just limit your boost clock. What's the temp of bottom card?

bottom card is 70

And they boost up to 1340 MHz

If I limit temps in msi after burner to 77

They boost to 1160 MHz

Would that be better or leave then at 1360 at 83 degrees ?

Btw this is only playing witcher 3 ultra 4k

You'd be losing performance over nothing. 83*C is fine. Titan X Runs at 87*C regardless of anything.

It's not an issue - as soon as it gets to 90*C then you can start panicking and invite me for a barbecue.
