asus or benq?!

Go to solution Solved by o0Martin,

I think imma go with the asus vn 247h-p tn panel. and if i dont like the colors i'll get something different but i havn't found anything bad about it at all.

i want a better refresh rate more than colors. but with my pc i was fortunate to afford, i get to enjoy ultra graphics quality, on pretty much every game (except mirrors edge, it was really laggy even at 720p) so i would like to take advantage of that

The refresh rate is the same for both of them, they both have a 60Hz refresh rate, the Acer has a lot of positive reviews on Amazon you can read through them if you like, I think Linus even did a video on the Acer at one point if I remember correctly.

I would advise strongly against paying more for a TN Panel display when an IPS Panel option is available for the same price or less (In this case $30 less) because it really does just mean better colours and viewing angles if you go IPS.

But end of the day it's up to you!

I am looking at the Asus vn247h-p 23.6" monitor, which i was about to purchase and i stumbled upon the BenQ gaming monitor rl2455hm model.

i will be mostly gaming. but i am drawn more to the slimness and built in speakers that come with the asus model.

Just wanna know if any one has compared these two, or has a preference.

Thanks!

I would probably have to say neither.

Both are 1080p and 60Hz, and in that category it makes more sense to buy an IPS Panel display instead of a TN one, you'll get better viewing angles and colour accuracy for the same/similar price!

Please follow your topics.

neither of them have a glaring frame so ... I gues you won't really notice a whole lof of difference. My Benq's frame is glaring and I can tell that's ennoying.

On german amazon they are a completely different price point. Is it different for you?

For only $130 USD you could get the Acer H236HLbid which is a nice cheap thin 1080p IPS Panel display: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-H236HL-bid-23-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00AZMLIDQ

Although that has no built in speakers, if you wanted one with that is still really thin and IPS then you could get something like the Dell S2415H, or if you don't mind something thicker I'm sure you could find an even cheaper one with build in speakers.

I would say built in speakers are prettymuch usless anyway since they sound no better than a mobile phone and you will replace them with something better in no time after having to use that crap... sry for rant

Nah I do agree. Monitor speakers are pretty much always shit, even at the higher end. I just mentioned it because in the OP he said he was drawn to the Asus because of the built in speakers.

But yeah even a cheap £20 speaker normally ends up sounding better than built in ones.
