CPU DECIDE HELP ME!

Go to solution Solved by Sintezza,

well in terms of ram, just pick the 2133mhz realy.

You willl not realy benefit from those more expensive 3000mhz modules AT ALL.

Next to that, i dont think that the Xeon E5-1620-V3 is realy the most ideal cpu for gaming.

Of course you will be able to game on them, but i would recommend to grab the 5820K i7 instead.

The 5820K is unlocked, so it can be overclocked for better gaming performance.

Xeon E5´s are basicly not ment for gaming,

although a 3.5GHz Xeon E5 should be capable, but still it does not make any sense to use this chip for gaming.

5820K is a better choice clearly.

Also using a Xeon E5 on a X99 board in general doesnt make any sense.

Because X99 simply lacks on certain feutures.

Asrock X99 boards are an exception on the rule, those boards do support feutures like ECC memory support.

But stil, if you wanne benefit the most of a Xeon E5, you simply should grab a server grade c-series chipset mobo.

And those server grade boards, are not realy ment for gaming either.

So honnestly the Xeon E5 is not the best choice for your needs.

Grab a 5820k! :)

The Pro is a good board.   It has about half the USB ports, fewer PCIE 16/8 sockets, and lacks the 2nd LAN Port compared to the Deluxe.   However other than this it is pretty much the same.   They tend to be about 50 bucks cheaper than the Deluxe so it is really up to you if the extra features are needed or not.    I personally went Deluxe with a 5820K and have no regrets.    If you have a Microcenter near you I suggest checking them out as well.   They will price match on the board and you can get the processor a LOT cheaper.

Ooops.  Also the Pro has only one SATA express connector.  And while SATA express isn't really that useful, it does also mean you have 2 fewer standard SATA connectors.

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.
