Got myself an off the shelf Lenovo PC. i3-2130 3.4GHz. She may not look like much but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself. Namely, 8Gb of RAM, a 650w PSU and a GTX 550 Ti. I'm currently in the process of building me a new gaming system. Figure I'll give this one to my little bro but I wanna do some more upgrades before I pass it on. Specifically, I want to upgrade the GPU. So how much GPU can I comfortably get by with before I start to go beyond the capabilities of the CPU and other hardware. I'm thinking a GTX 750 Ti. Can I go a bit higher? Any suggestions?

Sandy Bridge i3s are not terrible, but they're a little lacking compared to even Ivy Bridge. I would maybe go as high as a GTX 960/R9 380 and that's about it.

750 Ti is still a good option for decent performance too especially since they seem to be dropping in price slowly now.
