Hi all

Going into 6th form when I go back to school so I'm looking for a computer that will be suitable. At the moment I have an Acer Aspire 5935g which while being decent on the power side (well as far as I'm concerned), it's big, heavy and the battery may as well be a potato. So I was thinking of getting rid of it and my nexus 7 and finding a surface pro 2. So my main question is, is it worth spending the extra money to get the 256gb version for the 8GB of ram over the 128GB one with 4GB of RAM. It will be used for coding, Web browsing, essay writing and all that other school stuff. It will mainly be used in school and going out and about, at home I have a gaming rig which I use for everything at home. I wasn't bothering looking at the surface 3, pro 3 or the new 4 lineup because jd rather have the extra cash than a bit more power, screen resolution etc.

So, is it a good idea to get a surface pro 2 and if so, is the extra ram worth it for a work computer (I can be careful with the number of chrome tabs open if I have to)

Thanks

CPU: 8320, GPU: 7870 Myst, Motherboard: Asrock 970 extreme3, PSU: XFX Pro 650W, RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz, Case: Zalman Z11

I would go for the 8gb 256gb model you will fill up 4gb ram in no time and the small ssd aswell.

Thought so, think I will get the 256GB version then. £350/400 doesn't seem too bad. Not bothered about the SSD space because all my files are on my server so the only stuff stored on the SSD will be programs (on it I won't have that many) and I'll use the micro SD card space

It still won't be much with updates and a few programs trust me.
