So i have a kingston 3k hyperx , and its fast indeed but ive been having "quality" problems with it , i rarely open my computer and the two times i did kingston sata connectors started to crumble and break , i have 2 other ssds ( corsair and mushkin) never had a problem with them  , so basically the first time i took out my sata connector on my kgst ssd the L shape of the sata connector got stuck .. and i manage to put it back in and it worked however the 2nd time not really :\ im not sure if im dreaming but i think the sata pins are to short or have broken off , however im not able to find any pins in the connector itself , my main question is  can it be fixed by a repair shop? I told kingston support about this and they said as long as its broken its not valid for rma :\ i probably lost all my data unless i can fix the pins so advise & help appriciated .. DSC_0736.jpg

If you've broken it, RMA isn't an option. I don't think it can be repaired either since the connectors are solderded onto the board.

Can you take a picture of the connector?

It's supposed to look like this;

If they have broken off and you're good with a soldering iron, solder them back on.

Did they break off with a cable? If so you might be able to finagle that cable back into the port and save your data.

It did break off with the sata cable , but i cant tell if the pins broke i only have the l "shape"piece stuck in the sata cable

Try putting it back carefully and see if it works, if it does try saving the data. I have done things like this before.

You might be boned then. I assume that you've got a full, relatively up-to-date backup of any important files? If so, then you'll have to bite the bullet and get a new drive. I recommend either a Crucial M4 or a Samsung 840 series (Non-Pro, or Evo once they're available in your region). Although I've never heard of any issues with the Kingston drive having a bad connector.

Honestly, if still under warranty, I would try calling them again. If the person on the phone won't help you, then ask for their manager. Basically climb the customer service ladder.

Unless you bent the cable or pressed at an angle, it shouldn't break like that. Did you pull it out normally or did you have to apply a lot of force?
