if you want a better psu, go with the one below. it's a 750w gold and fully modular one. the u12s cooler will be silent during operation which is great

I am nearing the end for my pc build an need some final advice in terms of the life span of my computer and if everything will work together. Using PcPartPicker I was not sure of how accurate it is in term of everything working together. Please do me favor in terms of opinions of the computer. I would like opinions on the following. How long the computer will last, how up-gradable it is, and if it will suit almost all games at 1080p 60fps Hight(or medium depending on the game) to ultra (with no VSync). Anything is much appreciated.

 

Note: I am looking for mostly opinions and I want to stay under 1,300 dollars for the whole desktop. Feel free to make suggestions but as long as it is around the price I am going for.

Yeah whatever you do go with this Xeon I7 performance chip http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646e31231v3 or upgrade to Skylake with this 6600K otherwise no reason for an I5/I7 on prev gen sockets.

 

Well the MSI 970 is fine i wasnt that much into AMD either so i bought the 970 too even do the performance of the 390 is better.

Well the MSI 970 is fine i wasnt that much into AMD either so i bought the 970 too even do the performance of the 390 is better.

I might change the cpu in the future but I am on a tight budget and this is, after all, my first computer. Is upgrading a cpu necessary or is the one in chose good for now? Other people told me it should last 2-3 years for my requirements.

  1. you need a better cpu cooling solution. get the h60 or the u12s or the u14s from noctua
don't get the gigabyte board for overclocking as it won't let you set adaptive mode for your cache ratio and vring. avoid!get the r9 390 instead as it outperforms the 970get an evga g2 or gs psu instead as it's much better than the one you have selected (the supernova nex)i would get noctua fans instead. they outperform the corsair ones.

you don't need the sp120's. the noctua cooler below comes with a static pressure fan for your cpu heatsink. the asus z97-e is a great motherboard with sli and cf capabilities
