So, I have had trouble lately running games. Low framerates, even when CPU/GPU usage was fine, stuttering etc. I made sure all my software as up to date though, since that was the easiest thing to do first. I know my system has a bottleneck, but it should perform better regardless. I decided to check everything in Speccy, to make sure nothing was overheating, running at odd voltages or something and all was fine. Then I got to RAM. Speccy identified my RAM as "GU342G0ALEPR692C6F" with 6-5-5-17 timings. A quick Google search reveals a page on memorybenchmark.net, and shows the memory module is made by a unknown company called Unifosa Corporation.

I decided to compare the benchmark score versus other more common DDR2-800 modules, and it got significantly worse benchmark scores.

Here's the page for my memory (generic Unifosa 2GB stick):

http://www.memorybenchmark.net/ram.php?ram=Unifosa+Corporation+GU342G0ALEPR692C6F+2GB&id=1988

Here's the page of the memory I am comparing it with (Kingston ValueRAM 2GB stick):

http://www.memorybenchmark.net/ram.php?ram=Kingston+KVR800D2N6%2F2G+2GB&id=7308

Now, I don't know if this is a stupid theory or not, but could the decreased performance in (even light) games be due to slow memory?

If so, I'm probably going to get a better board that supports DDR3, as I don't have the funds to get a entirely new PC.

NOTE: The memory is running in Single-Channel mode on my PC, as the (shitty) motherboard does not support Dual-Channel RAM. Additional specs can be found below in my sig.

Laptop: Intel Core i5-4200H, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, GeForce 840M

Desktop: Intel Core i3-6100, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, GeForce GTX 750 Ti

mismatched RAM will cause performance hits. I'd suggest other issues though.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!
