How much does it matter?

I'm wondering how much output impedance from a dac/preamp matters if it's going directly into an amp, and not headphones? Is damping factor an issue there? It seems like a lot of DACs that I see have decently high output impedances, so does it matter?

from what i know, as long as the output impedance of DAC is bigger than 10K ohm, you're alright. The larger the output impedance of dac is, the better

Line-in and line-out have high input and output impedance typically. Part of this is to minimize current requirements; especially useful to avoid degredation from multiple devices connected to one line-out.
