Hey guys, I was doing some planning for my current build as I move over to water cooling. I'm wanting to hide my HDD, my two options are pretty much, hide it in the 5 1/4 bays, or find an elegant cover. I've seen this cover used a few times, but I can't seem to find where to purchase one.

This pic from MDPC has one mounted in the bottom on the right side behind the front intake fan.

Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these?

Thanks

depending on case used, i've seem HDD mounted on backside of the 5.25" cage

for a stealth look, but if using more than one HDD, could get "crowded". there are

3-in-2 adapters for ODD cages if multiple drives are used, but the caveat is size.

they tend to be large and intrude into the mobo area.

as for a cover, no one offers a cover, they are all custom. fabbed from ally, acrylic,

cardboard, pressed fossilized dawg-poop, into molded covers and finished with

paint, vinyl wrap or any covering option.

You could get something like this.

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71_211&products_id=4611

I think I saw it first in one on Singularity Computers' build log videos.

Man, that's almost exactly the cover I was looking for. I didnt need the side mounting holes this one has, but thats fine. its still a lot more stealthy and stylish than simply mounting the drive at the bottom. Thank You!!!

The only downside is the price lol. Bit steep, but I guess that's what you've got to pay for good looks ;)

Building your own works too

I would, and I could if my ex hadn't sold the majority of my tools and equipment before I could come back and get them after moving. So  I only have limited tools. Anyways, what I needed was answered, as far as the cover goes.

I also found out that I can mount a 3.5" drive vertically on the backside of the 5 1/4 bays. Just have to make some mounting that will hold it in place

=)
