So I started getting artifacting in some games and flickering in others - still relatively small - meaning it's bearable but my question is should I send it back now and see what happens or wait more? Honestly not sure what the right course of action is - it's currently in the box (using iGPU - not enjoyable ._.) and I have made some videos and screenshots of the issue - I might get my old 6850 as a temporary card if I can find something to replace it with in the office but idk if I should send back the 280 just yet - other option would be to try and resell it and get a 950/370 (money is tight)

Artifacts in Chivalry

Unigine Heaven - it's low quality so it's hard to notice but the top right part of the screen (most of the times they are there) when it rotates

WHICH ARTIFACTS

Or with his monitor. Since every artifact in Heaven and Chivalry appear in the same spot.

I couldn't notice anything either?

Well, i'm saying HE SEES them in one spot. Which could be a monitor problem :P

I wish I had filmed the firefox ones ._. - whole screen was in black bars but I panicked then and forgot to film it. Phone's bad camera also doesn't help much, sigh, not sure but I'm currently not seeing them with the iGPU so idk if it's a monitor thing.

Like I said it's still minor but I do notice them.

Could be a cable issue. Have you tried using other cables/inputs.

Monitor only has HDMI and VGA and card doesn't have VGA - got no adapters and got no other cables but it would also appear in windows if it were a cable thing right? and in Witcher 3? but I don't see anything there.

If its not showing up in an intensive game like Witcher 3 i doubt its a problem with the GPU itself. Have you tried using DDU and installing the latest drivers? If you can i would order or go to local store and get a different hdmi cable. Do you have any other monitors or tvs to test?

Already reinstalled drivers twice - nothing - from what I've been told VRAM allocation is random and the issue is to some extent as well - it sometime appears, other times doesn't so it's difficult to pinpoint - take a look at the second half of the second chivalry video - top right corner - it flashes for a second - black parts and happens twice @ 1:30 and onward - I know it's minor but I've also noted voltage spike readings from the VRMs up to 1.442V and about 2 months ago VRM temps went up by about 7*C for some unexplained reason and stayed that way - I also randomly get clock drops every now and again in games like chivalry where clocks drop from 980 to 504 or 300 for a split second and go back up - games also seem slightly stuttery.

How did you reinstall drivers? There could be remnants if you didn't get rid of ALL of the old stuff. Saw the artifact, was minor. You're only seeing it in heaven, chivalry, and Firefox? What are temps on the core? When was the last time you cleaned out dust?

Card is clean - took a detailed look - last case clean was less than 2 months ago - in heaven temps were under 70*C, in chivalry around 60*C and in firefox 32*C - I used DDU to remove drivers and followed the instructions provided. I assume it might be VRAM overheating since it usually appears after a whole day of use - Asus didn't put any cooling on the VRAM and the clocks are stock - I remember the 280X had a similar issue where the Asus OC was too much for the card

Forgot to mention - heard the card coil whining this evening - similar sound to that of Linus' old vid and was coming from the VRM area on the back (did my best to locate the sound)

More case airflow? My old ass 7970(280x) has no vrm heatsinks/pads and still runs fine.

1 intake and 2 exhaust currently - neither VRMs nor the core overheat since when I noted most of this everything was at 62-63*C which is generally low
