Internet Help [URGENT]

Hey LTT

 

My internet is being terrible. My dad and I have been doing some testing, and whenever my pc is off, he gets a ping of ~50ms. When my pc turns on, however, it jumps to ~1000ms and settles at 500 or 600. If I open Chrome, ~2000ms ping, if i open edge, 2200ms ping, and if I open firefox, 1400ms ping (all on my dad's PC). Note that these are WITHOUT opening any webpages.

If I turn my wireless off, then dad's ping goes back down to 50.

 

Done an anti-virus scan, disabled stuff in task manager, still happening.

 

Any insight would be helpful.

my guess is something on wireless is using all your bandwidth.

 

Edit: misread your post.

 

try reinstalling windows. some process on your PC is probably using all your bandwidth.
