Before I begin ordering parts for my new pc. I wanted to have some assistance in double checking that all the parts involved are suitable. I was primarily worried about the power supply wattage that I have chosen as the info page for the gigabyte 980ti states that at least a 600w power supply is needed. Will I need a larger one to power the remaining computer components?

(no hard drives are included as I own 2 samsung ssd's and a 1Tb WD black)

Only things I would say, which I guess are both personal preference, are: IMO for a white/black build the NZXT H440/Noctis 450 looks better, and I would reccomend be quiet! Silentwings2 fans over the corsair ones. Other than that, go for it! Also btw if you want Kingston do a white version of that memory.

I have the same motherboard, ram and similar psu (GS 550W version). Very happy with it :) The recommended PSU wattage of 600W has the rest of the system included so you should be fine with the one you chose.

I did a lot of research into which 980ti I would get and according to the comparisons that I have seen the gigabyte is only louder by 4dBa under load. Does this have a lot of real world impact or are they all destined to be noisy due to the massive cooling required?

The decibel scale is logarithmic. This means 4 dB more means a roughly 2.5 times louder sound. I don't know how much sound these cards produce though, but for my 970 HOF I only start noticing it when the fans start going around 70% and above so I'm guessing that it will be similar for these cards. Eventually when the fans go fast enough they'll all get noisy.

What do you recommend instead as I had a preference for this card because it allowed me to keep my black and white theme?

Here. The phanteks comes with 3 fans and I added two more. For optimized airflow make the 200mm and a single 140mm intake and then the last 3 140mm exhaust. This will keep positive air pressure and keep dust to a minimum. This case I believe lights up on the outside with white LEDs ( look into that ) and basically to me is my 2nd favorite case ( 3rd? ) compared to the NZXT Noctis 450 or H440. This should be VERY quiet without loosing perform. I added a 850w PSU ( This allows for overclocks and SLI in the future ) The NZXT x61 is by far way better the the H100i, it is quieter, performs better, and overall looks better. Added a Zotac 980Ti ( if you want the EVGA 980Ti with ACX cooling should also match your build ) Eather would do,

Thanks! The NZXT cooler comparisions show it really is a lot quieter than the h100i GTX so ill defiantly pick that up instead. I do think I prefer the H440 so I might go with that instead though and Zotac looks greyish so Ill get the EVGA (and I have heard the Zotac is louder).

I went with the phanteks case because you had the corsair 750D a full tower case picked out. The Phanteks is very similar to the H440 and airflow is a lot better. The h440 doesn't have the greatest airflow but if you do get it remove one of the 140mm fans I have picked out since the h440 comes with 3 120mm fans, the x61 Rad will take up the top two slots so the only spot, left is the rear 140mm fan.
