I have a £1200 budget for my first PC build. I'm conflicted between spending it all on the build and spending a part of the budget on a laptop. This is because I wanted a laptop (below £500) that I can take with me to school or outside to write on, but if I'd spend it all on the build I would be able to go longer without upgrading any parts and have better performance. What do you think? Is a £1200 pc overkill for a student who's starting to learn game development/ 3D work/ animation? Or should I consider a cheap windows tablet instead of a laptop for writing?

If you don't need to use for anything other than writing, might as well get a cheap windows tablet or chromebook imo. maybe go with i5/i7 notebook if you will be doing more specific work such as game development/coding/3d work

 junker build in the making
