GTX 980 Artifacting

Fausto315

I have a GTX 980 Asus strix in my PC and very recently noticed the it is artifacting a bit in games. It wasn't horrible at first  but it got worse. Now  every minute or so I will see black blobs appear for a split second then disappear. My temps are fine and I have the latest driver. What could be causing This? I've had it for about a month now and haven't noticed it up until a couple of days ago.

Any overclocking done?

None other than the slightly faster clock out of the box.

Does it artifact anywhere else?

I've noticed that AMD's and Nvidia's latest drivers are buggy and might be the cause.  Try reinstalling the driver.

That might be it i will try I didnt have artifacting before that driver.

If you haven't already, you may want to try older driver revisions.

I assumed all nvidia Windows 10 drivers where buggy

Is that what you're using at the moment? Never mentioned it.

Try stepping back a revision. I have no actual experience with 355.60 drivers, but I couldn't get that particular driver to install, even with a fresh install.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well one week later 353.62 worked... Then 355.82 was released, broke 353.62 and there is some artifacting with the new driver. RMA?
