Quick question regarding cpu&mobo-upgrade

If you take a functioning system and just exchange cpu and mobo, can you just boot it like normal without having to reinstall windows? If so, can you just install the new drivers over the old ones or do you have to remove the old ones manually? Just want to make sure.

No, Windows won't work straight away. It'll need to be activated again, which can be done by calling MS.

It'll work, but your desktop background will turn black and it will say "this copy of windows is not genuine"

ok, but after the reactivaton all my files and programs will still be there and work properly right?

When I just changed my motherboard I didnt do anything everything worked I just installed the new drivers and I didnt have to activate windows,but I have a full version.

2500k 4.0ghz,GTX 1070 oc,MSI Z77A-GD55,G.SKILL Ripjaws(4 x 2GB)DDR3 1333,OCZ Arc 100 240gb,Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB,Corsair TX 750w v1,CoolerMaster HAF 912,Hyper 212 EVO
