Get which ever one that will fit in your case. The Gene for a micro atx case, impact for a mini itx, hero/gene/extreme for a standard atx case. All of the boards have pretty much the same stuff so no need to worry.

Just get yourself an MSI GD65 Gaming. ROG has minimal Overclocking improvement.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

someone correct me if i'm wrong here, but this is what i can gather:

Maximus hero have 4 usb 3.0 + 4 usb 2.0 in the back and 2 usb 3.0 + 4 usb 2.0 somewhere in mid board

Maximus formula have 6 usb 3.0 + 4 usb 2.0 in the back and at least 2 usb 3.0 + 4 usb 2.0  somewhere in mid board

Maximus extreme have 6 usb 3.0 + 2 usb 2.0 in the back and at least 2 usb 3.0 + 6 usb 2.0 somewhere in mid board

this is just reading the spec sheet, so yea...

I don't see why you would try to find mobo this way tho - find your budget, see if it works then boom you get your parts :)

*edited to separate the lines for easier read

Check out the build: Used to be Obot, now Lilith

Shameless: Me

Take a look at the G45 Gaming. It's cheaper and motherboards don't really affect performance anyway.

What exactly are you looking for in a motherboard? Sli/crossfire? How many usb 3.0's?
