Laptop Advice

I'm looking for a gaming laptop that is under the £1000 mark (around 1500USD).

 

The G551JM from asus looks like the best option so far but is there anything else out there that you would recommend with a thin, portable form factor like the new razer blade that can handle most games at a reasonable frame rate.

 

Also what does everyone think about touch screens on laptops as I have never used one yet, but I know linus loves them.

Mainly school, light content creation, but also I want to be able to play all my games when I am not at my computer

if you're gonna take it with you to college i wouldn't suggest to get a gaming laptop. it's not worth it to carry around with you a 3+kg laptop all day just to be able to play 1-2 hours at night

what i'd suggest would be to get an ultrabook with a dedicated gpu line a 940m which can run every new game at about medium settings

To be honest I had overlooked the ultrabooks, but I see the appeal and after seeing those benchmarks on GTA V it might be what I am looking for. I suppose I need to decide if the almost doubling in weight is worth the extra graphics.

I'm actually also looking for advice on this topic, I'm hopefully heading to uni next year to do a bachelor in IT.
I've kinda always been into the desktop experience but I would rather one computer than moving all my work between two computers.
I want a laptop that could run games reasonably well, has good build quality, battery life, and also provide me with a decent typing experience. 
Displays don't really bother me that much, honestly TN is fine and 1080p is fine.
Prices around 1500~ AUD but obviously if there's something that fits the bill for cheaper I'd be willing to listen.
