Experiences with cold cathodes?

I was looking for some white led lighting to match the corsair carbide air 540 white and was wondering, if i could just use these http://www.coolerkit.dk/shop/revoltec-kold-katode-2546p.html or maybe just go with this http://www.coolerkit.dk/shop/nzxt-sleeved-led-1999p.html, but i think it would look really nice with the cathodes. Please comment with pictures of your setups, using cold cathodes.

I found them to be quite poopy but I did not really plan well or take sized into consideration. it was an impulse buy that I was happy to uninstall to sell to a friend.  they didnt seem as bright as they should've either.

 

dont judge me, its a old pic right after my first build.  I know the placement is horrible but it was really the only thing that worked.  I use LED's now and prefer them 10000x

Cold cathodes give light off in all directions so they tend to be a more even glow from surfaces bouncing the light but they tend to discolor or dim overtime more so than say a set of LED strips, the NZXT ones there are good but those give a more of a spot light type look than an even glow.
