Hello guys.

I got myself a new rig, with 980ti SC ACX+ SLI.

The rig is great but it currently has high temp on the GPU(85C), probably cause i´ve never made a decent airflow case before. It will get hotter in summer time.

This is my case: http://www.cerradohardware.com.br/ecommerce_site/produto_17160_6585_Gabinete-Aerocool-Strike-X-ST-Devil-Black-Full-Tower
Please Scroll down to the fans part to understand what im saying.

I CURRENTLY have an 200mm fan on number 1 as intake. Got H110i radiator with two 140mm fans as outtake on number 2. And a crappy 120mm on number 6 as outake.

What im thinking of doing is: Putting two 140mm on number 7 to blow air on the sli gpus, one 200mm fan as outtake on number 3, and replace the number 6 cooler with a decent one.

Ok my question is this:

Do i really need the 9x120mm coolers on the side panel? Cause that would be expensive as hell, im not in the US btw, so good coolers here are kinda expensive.

Couln´t i just leave the panel door open and put a ground fan blowing on the gpus? Which one do you think its better?

Please help me out, im working for more 3 hours and its really close to the hardware stores, so i would just buy it before i go home.

Thx in advance everyone

85c during gaming (i hope, and not idle) isnt that bad. i dont see anything wrong :)

i would start with cleaning out dust and doing some cablemanagment. if you havent done that already.

i wouldnt open the side panel as it can interrupt airflow.

Yeah gaming, But im sure it will be 90+ in summer time, cause my room usually stays 37C+ in summer. But should i close the side panel with no fans?

Yeah close the side panel, doesnt matter if you have no fans on it. and the problem seems like its the room temp thats the issue here. 37c in a room is hella hot. you can only go so far with fans. i would try to lower the temp in your room somehow. and again 90c may not be comfortable but its still safe. gpus will even work in the 100c range, but then it starts to be a little bit dangerous  ;)

How hot is it in your room?

Check for airflow intake at front out at the back.

You can always add more case fans if needed otherwise 85°c is fine specially running them in SLI.

Oh and make sure that the H110I wont take much of that heat from the inside of the case, create as much airflow as you can.

Isn't it recommended to get blower coolers for SLI setups? Just because cards will be too close to eachother for ACX coolers to be effective? Anyway, I got few suggestions. You can add fan for 7 to help with intake. But instead of having 3 as exhaust, make it intake too. Lower card will have both fans facing down and will use mostly that air. Get single 200-230mm fan to side panel as exhaust.
