Raid0 ssd without windows re-install

Go to solution Solved by dfsdfgfkjsefoiqzemnd,

No problem.聽 Just set up the RAID on the 500GB drives (be VERY careful not to select the 128GB one by accident) and they'll show up in Windows as a 1TB drive.聽

You don't need to do anything to the OS or the OS' SSD.

I have ny windows installation on my 120gb ssd, and now I am getting 2x500gb ssd.

Do I have to reinstall windows even if I am not including the 120gb drive with it into the raid configuration? So I would have 120gb ssd with windows + 2x500gb ssd(raid0)

I would say it would work if the 500gb drives will show up as one you could just copy the os to the and then expand the partition to fill the full raid.

You could create your RAID and then use a clone tool like Clonezilla/Acronis to sector by sector clone it onto your RAID.

There can be issues with doing this. Something to do with the striping sizes. I tried to move my OS from a single SSD to a RAID0 array, but it failed.聽

It's worth trying, but not certain to work.聽

I dont want to move my os into the raid, I want to raid my 2x 500gb drives and keep my os out of there on my 128gb ssd which will not be in the raid.

You don't need to do anything to the OS or the OS' SSD.
