So im sitting right now and is going to order some new RAM as the other i RAM i bought, just didnt fall in my taste. So, here we are. im going to have either black or orange ram sticks, and did wonder. Team Group memory, are that reliable. What about avexir blitz 1.1 gigabyte ultra durable or what about kingston hyperx memory?

Thanks! :)

when shopping for ram ...to tell wich ram is better

1cas equals 233/266mhz ( after 2133mhz  it scales to 266mhz )

example

1600mhz ram cas 8 would be equal to 1866cas 9

1600mhz cas 9 would be qualt to 1866 cas 10 ( the 1866kit would be better in latency by 33mhz )

2133mhz cas 9  equals 2400 cas 10

when shopping for ram also check timings

9-11-11 7-9-9 ect for example is in most cases samsung chips

7-8-9 or 9-10-11 ect is usually hynix

10-11-10 or 9-10-9 ect is usually PCH memory

the best chips for overclocking are pch and samsung chips... pch are better at tightening timings while samsung is better at achieving higher mhz's

without taking overclock in consideration either pch or samsung would be a great choice, pch has lower memory latency though than samsung ( unless u start tightening secondary timings on samsung as samsung scales insanely well with secondary timings... but first timings it will not scale )

short said, take a good ram brand and go with the desired mhz but keep in mind to compare cas/mhz value

stick with pch or samsung chips, aslong u stick with pch/samsung ul be fine... rest is up to how u like the looks on ram, such as design/color ect

i've fell in love with these, they are made as a replica to the z87x-oc from gigabyte, but as im using the z97x-soc thats using the same color scheme i think they would look good, but what do you think of its specifications. CL 9-9-9-24, is that good? https://www.caseking.de/avexir-blitz-1.1-gigabyte-force-orange-led-ddr3-1600-cl9-8-gb-kit-meax-313.html

cas 9 1600 is the most default stick there is, cant call them good... their basic timings

as for the brand its all up to u... just make sure ur motherboard is compatible with equal or almost equal serial numbers/brands

cas 9-9-9 = always 24 tras

aha, so you prefer higher speeds and lower cas?

yeh but its for enthusiasts only, if ur competitive for example and all u care about is input delay/system responsiveness and less screentearing getting higher speeds with lower cas will help alot ( though to get everything fully optimized to its full extend ul have to be able to tighten all secondary timings, wich i wouldnt recommend if u wouldnt know what ur doing )

for casuals who dont want the lowest possible input delay or simply dont care about best possible smoothness, simple... go with any ram u want... but keep the timings atleast casual 1600cas9... dont get 1600cas 11 sticks for example

best possible ram currently on the market is 2400mhz cas 9  ( if u look at first timings only )

2133mhz cas 9 are the best at secondary timings though ( i prefer secondary timings because they improve smoothness and reduce input delay aswell... but its less effective on input delay than first timings )  ^ that is talking about tightening timings ( secondary timings are better to be tightened on 2133 cas 9 kits cuz 2400 would require a higher trfc by default already due to the mhz for example )

i do nothing but tweak my system to its full extend lowering and lowering input delay and increasing smoothness till it can improve no more or till i have to sacrifice more for it other than tweaking timings ( for example sacrifice image quality on monitor for example... my monitor will have lower input delay using SRGB mode ... but i prefer to use atleast a nice color theme on my monitor ;x ... )

Okay! thanks!

np, just keep in mind if u are a enthusiast for responsiveness/smoothness...  higher mhz + lower cas is better...

if u dont care too much sticking with default timings is fine too

2133 cas 11-13-13 = default   but 2133 cas 9-11-11 is more of a enthusiast dimm :P

1866 cas 9-10-9 = default   but 1866 cas 7-8-7 is more enthusiast

im an extreme enthusiast and a extreme when it comes to ram, i would even sacrifice 500mhz off my cpu if i could get 2cas lower @ the same mhz(@ ram) :P

for u probably default timings will all be fine , for me i couldnt live without enthusiast timings anymore... got used to it too much... its like going from a 60hz monitor to a 120hz or a 75hz... once u got used to it... u cant go back anymore :(  coz then it feels laggy :(

I suggest G.Skill TridentX 2400MHz sticks, they are really good c:.

They were cheap on Amazon and can have tighter timings.

I had to put 1.75v for 2400MHz CL9 but was fine at CL10-11-11-30 with 1.65v.

Well, I wasn't looking at some overkill, but I have a fetish for high mhz ram. If i can catch some fast mhz ram for a great price, then i will do That. Also i see that you are using a h100i, how does That perform when talking noise?

I got 2x4GB for $66 on Amazon, so it was pretty good.

I like my H100i, it does pretty good but the fans do make a bit of noise at higher RPM but after my delid and my temps barely reach 60c, the fans don't make much noise.
