Hello,

 

Newegg is offering a $25 discount on orders of $200 using Visa Checkout, and I wanted to know if anyone here has ever used this service? If you use this service, what all information do you have to provide when creating an account? I have a prepaid Visa gift card I thought about using with this service, but I do not want to sign up if I have to provide a SSN to use the service. I don't give this info out unless it's absolutely necessary, and using Visa checkout isn't necessary.

 

Yes, prepaid gift cards are allowed to be used with this service. I have confirmed this.

I wouldn't really say it's a service so much as a feature to VISA customers. I don't see why you would need to provide them your SSN as it's for people who are already customers.

 

EDIT: according to their site you don't have to, just card number and address.

I've used it to order from Newegg.ca and NCIX. You just need to add your credit card, address, and contact information.
