So I saw the CoolerMaster Master Case video, I even saw brief glimpses of it from computex and I would like to know your opinions regarding the following:

(Stealing these questions from Pauls Hardwar + adding my own)

Do you like having the option to buy a slimmed down (less feature rich case) using a standard frame to meet price point tiers?

Are you on board with the idea of paying for single "à la carte" upgrades to make a build to meet current needs as they change?

Would you rather continue to see tiers, with higher initial cost, but more feature rich offerings?

I for one am torn on this premise.  While being able to essentially mix and match various features to tailor the case to your intended usage could be really beneficial when wanting to say maximize storage options without having to upgrade to a whole new case to just purchase a single HDD cage, or to change from air cooling to a AIO, without considering a whole case upgrade to accommodate the radiator.  These are the benefits, primarily convenience to adapt a case configuration to individual preferences.

What I believe could be a drawback to seeing this would be the over charging for the modular components, and or some sort of bundled upgrading system, whereby it is cheaper to lets say upgrade whole sale (every component) from the Master Case 5 to the Master Case Pro 5 than buying only the two components you are interested in (for example a side panel window and a radiator mount), which essentially makes buying the Master Case Pro 5 in the first place the more economically friendly option.

TL:DR

Basically I am envisioning a ridiculous monstrosity, where they combine this sort of micro modularity (single component) with the more macro modularity of the HAF Stacker lineup to essentially make complete case building a thing.  There is a such a thing as too many choice and options , something along the lines of this would be your experience:

I find the concept very smart; for every budget there is an option. However, i also see how they overprice things like side-window panels and i also think there will be 3rd-party brands that will replicate some parts.

I'm sure they realize this. I don't think it's going to be the new standard any soon.
