Ah, well I just assure you, you will be happy if you get Shure's. They're amazing and they're really comfortable.

I would get the Shures personally, but I'm biased... (I've owned everything in their current IEM lineup other than the 315 and the 846.)

Never the 215 (I bought them mainly for my girlfriend, and she loves them, so I don't get much time with them. That being said, I have used the SE535 for working out (They have the same form factor, so they will function the same.) and they were excellent. The only thing is, if you'll be working out, use the silicone tips, not the foam ones (or the olives) because they will get nasty really quickly. They sound great, and since the ear canal doesn't sweat (just like the bottom of your feet), you don't need to worry about sweat breaking them, as long as you get a good seal. The cable never presented any issues for me with cutting in and out, due to sweat bridging the poles, so I wouldn't worry about it. (I wore these as a Division 1 athlete in college, so you can be assured that if my sweat didn't break them, yours won't.) If you are worried about bridging the poles though, a little petroleum jelly wouldn't hurt, I don't think (although I never tried it myself.)

Last few pairs of what? The SE215 connector is pretty durable as long as you don't take the cable off and put it back on every ten minutes. Leave the cable plugged in, and you'll be fine!

The cable will be more durable than those. Also, you can just replace it with a $15 cable if it ever breaks. #removable

I had trouble with my first pair (clear ones) cutting out and shorting out, but shure swapped them for me without any hassle and gave me the black ones at my request (I bought them at guitar center and all they had was clear). This pair has been flawless thus far, and they're my favorite pair of earbuds. They sound good and fit better than any other pair I've found so far.
